OK, I admit it, I’m a sucker for a good buffet. I’m a big burly guy, and love to eat. Planet Havana, for $10.99, delivers a first-rate buffet lunch of well prepared Cuban specialties. I’ve now been there 3 times, and each selection was different, though all were first-rate. You’ll get a choice of 4 or 5 different meat/fish entrees (always roast pork and a chicken dish; sometimes fish or mussels; sometimes sausages) plus veggies, salad, rice, beans, and desserts including a first rate, creamy flan. A great lunch, across the street from the Sovereign Bank Arena.

They have a full bar, and serve dinner ala carte. The bar is open until the customers leave, and the kitchen stays open until 10 PM.
I went here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. There was no buffet, and I really should have left then. Service was bad. The waiter/bartender was a genuinely nice guy, but he worked with absolutely no urgency. When you’re working, and on a lunch hour, the last thing you need is slow service. After sitting for about 10 mins. with no table setting or menu, I finally got that. 10 more minutes passed before I got to order. Then, 20 minutes after that, my food finally came, minus the platanos, which I was told they were out of. Meanwhile, a couple of ladies right next to me who had ordered when I did ate their platanos contentedly. Then again, they were beautiful women; I would have served them first too. Nevertheless, I was not pleased. The food was quite good; I am still figuring out whether I should come back here again.
i tried this place once and really wanted to like it but it was a bit pricey and i had to wait almost 1/2 an hour for my takeout lunch
Planet Havana a We Are BOOST favorite for small group meetings and special events.
For the past few months, We Are BOOST has been holding in organizational meetings, workshops, and focus sessions at Planet Havana. There is not a lot of day-time traffic of folks eating lunch, but we believe we are contributing to the restaurant’s staying power by promoting the venue through our events promotions campaign and by holding our meetings there. We now see others using teh space to do the same. If every organization would choose at least one Trenton eatery to hold their meetings and events, over the course of time, these often struggling places will be able to gain name-recognition and, thus, more business.
Great food and great mix drinks at the bar. The club next door is happening over the weekends and the Tuesday’s are picking up. Check it out when you get a chance, it’s worth a trip.
