Evelynne Toth, the Licensed and Board Certified Acupuncturist who runs One Earth Acupuncture, is a woman with a mission, “I am passionate about the benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine and making it widely accessible to the public. ” Her office is in a pleasant professional strip mall in nearby Bordentown, a 15 minute drive from downtown Trenton.
As we used to say in high school, Evelynne “puts her money where her mouth is” with an innovative delivery and pricing scheme designed to allow even people with modest means to take advantage of acupuncture. While you can get treatment in a private room if you need it, to keep costs down, many treatments are performed in a pleasant, open room that you might share with another patient. And Evelynne lets you pick the fee you can afford… after the initial session/consultation, additional treatments are on a sliding scale (which you decide based on your ability to pay): a minimum of $20 to a maximum of $40/session.
If you’d never had acupuncture, in my experience, it’s incredibly useful to treat a large number of low-grade and chronic conditions that western medicine seems never to figure out how to deal with. The ultimate goal is to get your body’s life-energy (or “Chi”) into “balance”, and the results may have multiple effects from weight loss to better sleep to healing of aches and pains that never seem to go away any other way.
By the way, don’t be concerned about the needles. Getting a treatment isn’t like getting a series of injections. Most of time you don’t even feel the needle. At worst, you feel a tingle or a slight burning sensation. It’s not painful, and I find I look forward to my sessions because I normally feel a rush of energy afterwords.
