Does food get more beautiful than this?
Gravity Hill Farm is an immaculately managed, organic farm located in Titusville. The property literally abuts the north eastern boundary of Baldpate Mountain preserve. Three days each week (Tu, Sa, Su) the farm organizes a market selling its own produce. Sundays it invites other local farms to join the sale: typically a local organic dairy farm that produces cheeses, and a second, local farm raising grass-fed beef and lamb.
The quality is impeccable. Selection and variety is targeting chefs and foodies. You’ll find a variety of exotic mushrooms, heirloom tomatoes, baby carrots, exotic vegetables like okra and kolrabi. All utterly gorgeous. Plus, of course, more standard items like potatoes, cucumbers, scallions, greens, etc. Lettuce is available in the spring and fall, but takes a break in the high summer.
Prices aren’t cheap, but they’re competitive with high end grocers like Whole Foods, and MUCH fresher (and of course, about as local as it gets).
Unlike some organic farms in the area where you need to purchase a season “share,” Gravity Hill requires no commitment. Simply show up on market day and buy what you need. Unit prices are a lot higher, but if you’re like my family, and can’t dependably use a farm share week-in and week-out, it’s much more convenient and you give away (or waste) much less.
The farm is kid friendly. However, pets are not allowed on the property. Combine a visit to this farm with a hike on Baldpate for a wonderful experience. The kids will like it too.
Thanks to my friend, Nancy W, for recommending this place!

Our neighbors and friends, Maria and David, own this farm, and I can tell you they love what they do and love to have people explore the farm. They truly care about what they do, and it shows. Thanks for the lovely review, Michael. I’ll be sure to let them know.
Wendy, this is the place you were raving about. Right?
