Opposite the Mercer County Court House(s) on the 200 Block of S. Broad, LexiLu serves a brisk trade of lawyers, clerks, guards, and jurors from the courthouse, plus a smattering of Mill Hill residents and others passing through.  If you find yourself on this end of town during the day, it’s well worth the stop for coffee, espresso drinks, pastry, and breakfast sandwiches in the morning, and exquisite, grilled panini sandwiches for lunch.  There are also wraps, fresh homemade salads, and gourmet ice cream cones.  The quality is very good, prices are fair trade for the quality.

Built in front of Amaroso’s Flower Shop, the cafe is pretty much a take-out joint.

  1. I think you have good food when I was on jury duty I stop for lunch everyday. But I was recently disappointed I have a menu at my desk that says spring mix salad with Porabello mushrooms and roasted red peppers. So I asummed that is what I would get but was really disappointed when I got back to my office and saw apples, chicken, feta cheese. I did not ask for chicken or any of that stuff. It takes 20 minutes to walk there which is a good part of my lunch hour. From now on I will take the time before I leave to check my order. The last time I was there they switched my order with someone elses not a problem because they realized it as I was leaving and made the change. I will go back most likely won’t order salad, will stick to the panni’s because then I won’t be disappointed.

  2. This place is great for lunch! The employees are helpful and friendly. The food is delicious and fresh. The panini bread is delightful. There’s no place to sit, but if the weather is nice, you can cross the street and sit on the courthouse steps. Definitely check it out some time!

  3. LOVE this place! i haven’t sampled the baked goods but they look very promising. my chicken soup was the epitome of homey goodness, chock full of carrots, celery, and chuncks of white meat chicken. my husband raved about his panini. if you work in the area, make sure to stop in for a takeout breakfast or lunch. this place is head and shoulders above most of the breakfast/lunch cafes in the downtown area.
